WHO IS ENTITLED TO A LIBRARY CARD?
A library card is issued free of charge, to any person who lives, works, owns property, or attends school in Montclair. In addition, anyone may join the library upon payment of a $65.00 annual fee. Senior citizens residing in the North Essex area who are 65 years of age or over may receive library cards free of charge.
WHAT DO I NEED TO GET A CARD?
Appropriate personal identification is required in conjunction with proof of name and street address. Proof of address may be in the form of a driver’s license, rent receipt, property-tax bill, electric/gas or telephone bill, a postcard or envelope recently canceled and delivered by the Post office, or a checkbook with imprinted name and street address.
DO I NEED TO RENEW MY CARD EVERY YEAR?
Borrowers cards are permanent for residents. Nonresidents and employees of businesses in Montclair have expired date of one year from the date of issue. Student cards expire at the end of the semester. Montclair State University students must present proof of enrollment in the form of a current MSU ID or identification plus a current class schedule.
